We’re back from our summer break and ready to get back to work!

Engagement Opportunities

Community Kit Making

Zharity is holding our next Community Kit Making event at Essen für Alle’s new location on Thursday, September 17th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Join us as we assemble 1500 hygiene kits that will be distributed the following Saturday at Essen für Alle’s food bank. The old adage is that “many hands make light work” and we invite you to join us to do this important work and learn more about Zharity and Essen für Alle. Sign up HERE.

Reusable Pad Project

The reusable pad project is back! These events are an opportunity to meet other volunteers while helping to make reusable menstrual pads for the Nicholas Robinson School in Ethiopia. The prep work entails simple tracing and cutting of fabric. No sewing experience is required for material prep events! Our next event will take place Saturday, October 24. More details to follow.

If you do have basic sewing skills, consider our group sewing sessions every second Monday morning with Katherine at Knit-Sew. The next meetup is Monday, September 7 at 9:00. You can sign up for this and future group sewing sessions HERE.

Zharity In Person Coffee Talk - Thursday, September 24th at The Bridge

We are hosting an IN PERSON Zharity Coffee Talk on Thursday, September 24 at 9:30AM. This is an opportunity to learn more about Zharity and our open volunteering opportunities, and to have your questions answered. Whether you are an existing volunteer and/or Verein member or are new to Zharity and want to learn more, we welcome you to join us. Register HERE.

Wishlist Re-opening

Our wishlist will be open again September 1st, and we hope that you’ll keep us in mind while you’re cleaning out your closets!

As the days finally start to cool down, we’re thinking ahead to autumn. That means we’ll be accepting fall clothes - think long pants, light jackets and rain gear. Starting in September, you can find our full wishlist HERE.

Hygiene Kit Fundraiser

Personal hygiene is essential for health, dignity, and confidence, yet basic supplies are often out of reach for families facing financial hardship.

Every week, the Essen für Alle food bank in Zürich serves 1,200 - 1,500 people. Over the past two years, Zharity’s 100% volunteer-led team has provided quarterly hygiene products to help recipients stretch their limited budgets for other living costs.

This September, we aim to assemble and distribute 1,500 high-quality hygiene kits direct to community members in need at Essen für Alle.

JOIN US IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE:

Every contribution helps Zharity continue this essential quarterly support, purchasing bulk supplies to place complete hygiene kits directly into the hands of local neighbors who need them most.

**CHF 100 - Will allow Zharity to make/distribute 14 hygiene kits

**CHF 250 - Will allow Zharity to make/distribute 35 hygiene kits

Please consider making a donation to help Zharity offset some of this cost.

Thank You International School Zürich North

Zharity would like to extend our sincere thanks to the International School of Zurich North once again for organising a Baby Item Drive this past Spring.

Led by their Grade 4–5 students, this effort provided much-needed diapers, baby hygiene products and baby clothing/accessories to support our community partners during the coming months. We are especially grateful to the lead teacher, Cecile Meintjes, for her continued leadership and dedication in bringing this project to life.

It’s inspiring to see students lead this collection and help spread the word to their fellow classmates/parents. During this project, they are not only giving back, but also learning more about their community and the impact they can make.

We are grateful for this collaboration and look forward to working together again in the future.
