1,500 Hygiene Kits in Just 2 Hours: A Sizzling Success at Essen für Alle!

On the morning of Thursday, September 17th, an incredible team of 22 volunteers gathered at the Essen für Alle location in Zürich with one clear mission: package and organize essential hygiene kits for community members in need.

In just two short hours, this hard-working crew assembled, packed, and stored a total of 1,500 hygiene kits and cleaned up following the event! Each kit was carefully packed with everyday essentials:  shampoo bars, toothbrushes/toothpaste, lip balm and deodorant.

A quick note on sustainability: Even though hygiene items distributed through these programs need to be brand new for safety and health reasons, we were intentional about making eco-conscious choices where possible. For instance, we sourced shampoo bars that last three times longer than traditional liquid shampoo, are much easier to pack, and we packaged the items in recyclable, responsibly sourced paper bags!

The impact was immediate. On the very next Saturday, a dedicated Zharity volunteer team distributed the kits directly to individuals and families at Essen für Alle.
