Volunteer Opportunities

Join our Zharity team and help us continue to grow. We are looking  for several volunteers to help us and to be part of a dedicated team of Zharity.  We require each of these volunteers to be Verein members and these are long term volunteer opportunities.

Event and Project Co-Leads

We have many ideas for impactful projects to provide even more help to our community partners, but we need Project Co-Leads to help bring these ideas to life.  

4-10 hours monthly (depending on the project)

Project Co-Leads are detail oriented people who will plan and lead existing or develop new Zharity projects - from planning to execution and managing the event on the day.   Examples of projects that have required Project Co-Leads in the past:  community kit making events, Pad Project project development and the bi-annual material preparation and sewing events for the Pad Project.

Specific Needs:

• Prior expertise in project planning.

• Develop project concepts, timelines and an execution plan to ensure smooth events.

• Ability to work with community partners or logistics partners depending upon the scope of the project 

• Collaborate with our social media team to market these events and plan follow ups post event.

• Communication with our Board, our verein members and team members.

• German Language is preferred but not required.

City & City North Driver

4-8 hours a month

Zharity is looking for volunteer drivers that can help on a regular basis in the Zurich City area:  You will need your own car, valid license and insurance. We also require a driver’s waiver form completed.

• Pick-up from one or more of our donation sites.

• Drop off at our unit in Dübendorf on Wednesday morning

• Drop off items at community partners 

• Pick up from corporate partners

• Participate in an event as the driver - Pick items up from our unit and attend event and bring items back to unit or partner organisations

Community Partner Lead

The Community Partner Lead serves as the primary bridge between Zharity and our local partners. This role is essential for ensuring that our resources are directed exactly where they are needed most.

• Primary Liaison: Manage and nurture relationships with existing Community Partners.

• Needs Assessment: Conduct regular outreach and meetings to identify current partner needs, specifically regarding redistribution items.

• New Outreach: Identify and initiate contact with potential new partners to explain Zharity’s mission and explore collaboration.

• Membership: Must be a paying Zharity Verein member.

• Language: Native or fluent (mother-tongue preferred) German or Swiss German. This is a requirement as most community partners communicate primarily in these languages.  Must also have very good written/spoken English- as this is the language for Zharity business

Zharity Unit Lead

This role focuses on the physical space, inventory, and the volunteer teams required to keep our redistribution cycle moving. Responsibilities include the following:

• Unit & Inventory Management

• Team & Schedule Coordination

• Logistics & Data

• Kit Making

• Membership: Must be a paying Zharity Verein member.

• Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with inventory management and volunteer scheduling.
